Senior Software Tester

Software Tester is responsible for the quality of the deliverables according to the business requirements. This is related to existing systems, new systems, evolutions or defects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide testing services ensuring platforms, services and components are tested to agreed scope
• Prepare and execute test plans, test cases and test scenarios as per CET’s Testing Strategy and industry best practices
• Responsible for the production of detailed test plans, test cases and test scenarios for functional testing of CET’s systems under test
• Responsible for delivery of all agreed testing documentation and execution of tests to agreed milestones and quality levels

Main activities:

• Create detailed system test plans, test cases and test scenarios ensuring scope coverage
• Execute the tests ensuring all results and defects are documented as per the relevant testing processes
• Identifies risks associated with the testing and takes preventative action to ensure requirements, quality and timelines are achieved
• Uses CET’s Testing Tools and testing environments to produce all test deliverables, results and defects
• Identify and raise defects as per the agreed methodology
• Work closely with the Testing Manager to ensure planning is performed properly and test coverage is obtained
• Provide the plans and activities, report progress on the plan, suggest and implement corrective actions when necessary in order to maintain planned milestones and due dates
• Gain an understanding of the business context and technical environment
• Prepare test plans and test scenarios to test each software item
• Reproduce, under business context, the deviations compared to the expected results
• Perform functional and non-functional system integration testing
• Align to traditional testing methods based on waterfall SDLC and V-model as well as to alternative testing methods based on SDLC like agile
• Participate in the analysis of results and the defect management and resolution process
• Provide UAT support to other CET subsidiaries for planning, execution and reporting of UAT
• Plan and execute tests in accordance with CET’s Testing Strategy
• Plan and execute tests in accordance with international testing best practices where these is additional value brought on top of what is already provisioned by CET’s Testing Strategy
• Identify and report software defects using CET’s Defect Management process
• Ensure defects are identified and raised as per the agreed Defect Management process
• Perform testware tasks and management with HPE ALM in order to create full traceability between test basis and test cases and defects
• Assure test basis coverage with testware
• Controls and acts against intrusions, fraud and security breaches or leaks

COMPETENCIES:

• Bachelor degree in IT is a plus
• Minimum of 4 years of testing/QA preferable in banking
