Senior Node.JS Developer

Project Description

This is a good opportunity to take part in the enhancement and support of the heart of a global company business. Our partner’s business is delivering news through various channels and we have a unique opportunity to work with them in continuous improving their systems (paywall, payments, subscriptions, accounts). This system will need to be permanently available and deal with a high throughput. The system is based on delivering low latency and high throughput. Components need to be horizontally scalable to ensure that the system is capable of real-time processing;

Responsibilities

• Develop a customized software solution using Node.js, GO and Docker;
• Actively participate in Team Meetings (Scrum ceremonies);
• Take part in all application development lifecycle phases;
• Develop functionalities according to defined acceptance criteria;
• Ensure high code quality, participate in code reviews;
• Work closely with the Product Owner, Design Lead, and Testers in order to deliver the tasks in time and with the expected quality;
• You will be involved in the development of a services platform for one of the largest news groups;
• Be at the heart of a development process that will create a key business strategic software component;
  

Mandatory Skills

• 5+ years of experience working in Node.js (or relevant JavaScript with BE knowledge);
• Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, JQuery;
• Good knowledge of MySQL;
• Experience in designing or implementing REST web services;
• Good communication skills and the ability to take part in both team debates as well as client discussions;
• The ability to work well as part of a team using the agile methodology;
• Advanced English speaking and writing abilities are required.
  

Desirable Skills

• Knowledge of GO lang;
• Knowledge of Payments Gateways;
• Experience with commercial applications, within the news domain;
• A good understanding of version control systems (GIT).
