Position

Senior Legal Adviser in Banking (project finance, public sector & syndicated lending).

We’re looking for the newest member of the Special Deals legal department, offering an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic legal professional to join our dynamic team.

This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to advance his/her career in legal and banking while, also, gaining hands-on experience in a challenging and supportive workplace.

You will utilize your skills and knowledge in providing specialized legal support and advice in public sector & syndicated lending, project finance and a variety of non-standard lending transactions.

What Do We Expect

Based within the legal department, you will work closely with all areas of sales, credit analysis and risk teams, to participate and ensure an optimal process in the granting and course of specific loan products.

As a Senior Legal Adviser, you will be part of our support team and your passion for providing exceptional service will contribute to our high level of customer satisfaction – inside and outside the bank.

In this exciting role, you will communicate in an open, helpful and engaging manner, with tone and focus on finding the right solution for each issue.

What Will Your Responsibilities Be

Coming from a strong legal background you will be expected to enjoy a role that involves:

• issuing legal opinions on clients’ statutory documents, capacity and authority;

• analyzing property documents concerning real estate and movable assets proposed as collateral, in order to identify and prevent/mitigate any associated risks;

• assessing possible implications of litigations or other procedures involving clients and their businesses;

• drafting, reviewing and/or negotiating a wide range of documents (loan and mortgage agreements, corporate guarantees, letters of comfort etc.) in order to meet the specific terms of the financing approval and/ or protect the bank’s best interest;

• reviewing syndicated lending documentation, including legal opinions and due-diligence reports provided by external lawyers, identifying any potential detrimental provisions and offering clear and practical advice to meet the needs and interests of the bank;

• participating in meetings with clients’ attorneys/ representatives, in order to discuss legal matters on the financing transaction, negotiate agreements, obtain documents concerning collaterals etc.;

• providing professional legal advice and support on all lending related aspects.
  
  

What Is Required

Experience and knowledge

• University degree in Law;
• Minimum 5 years in legal consultancy, including contractual and corporate law, preferably in a financial institution;
• High level of knowledge of Romanian legislation, banking regulations and banking products (good grasp of syndicated lending issues is a plus);
• Fluent spoken and written English (standard and legal).
