Second Line Engineer, VAS and IMS

Role:
Configure deployments on Vodafone Romania Core IMS and Value Added Services Platforms
Operate and maintain Vodafone Fixed IMS Voice and Value Added Services in order to reach the established business goals per company.
Responsibilities:
BUILD
Participates in the BUILD phase for different projects: Develop operational technical specifications and secure quality of handover to RUN Phase for Core VAS projects
Implement software and hardware configurations on multi-vendor systems
Performs testing of software packages and live applications
Executes planned and preventive night maintenance activities
Participates in internal and external trainings in order to improve technical skills
OPERATE and MAINTAIN
Operates and Troubleshoot End to End Fixed Voice IMS services (access equipment and Core IMS)
Operates and Troubleshoot Telco Value Added Service Applications and Unix systems (Voicemail, SMS Router, IN, service enablers)
Manages day by day customer technical complaints coming from First Line/Assurance teams
Raise and track vendor support tickets for complex technical issues
Performs periodic health checks/monitoring of the network’s performance indicators;
Performs Tracing and debugging on various equipment
Creates documentation for the temporary and permanent solutions adopted;
Main skills needed:
1-2 years of operations and support experience in Telecommunication industry
Good knowledge of SIP protocols and overall IMS architecture
Good knowledge of GSM/UMTS architecture on Core side
Good Knowledge of Telco SS7 signaling protocols (MAP, CAP, INAP, ISUP, Diameter, SIGTRAN)
- Basic knowledge of Linux (LPIC-1 equivalent) and IP Networking
- Basic experience to analyze and interpret traces (wireshark traces, network element traces, logs)
- Good Knowledge of the English language
Can be an advantage:
Hands-on experience on VAS platforms (Voice Mail, IN, SMSC etc.)
Hands-on experience in Telco Signaling network (STP)
Industry certification on Linux, Networking
