The Fintech hub is meant to create a new high-caliber location for Group Technology and Engineering (GTE). GTE is structured around the design, build and maintenance of innovative systems, products and services. GTE works in partnership with customer-facing teams to innovate and build reliable and secure products and services across many industries.

Key Purpose of the Role:

• Develops information systems following business and architectural requirements
• Supports and helps designing, developing, and installing software solutions initiatives
• Work within an agile software development team
• Adopts and promotes good practices in agile development
• Identify and proactively deal with impediments
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce well structured, maintainable, reliable and fit for purpose code at an accepted level of quality
• Develop unit test code to highest possible coverage levels
• Understands and helps creating system requirements from business requirements
• Understands designs and helps with estimates from system requirements
• Assist with content and accuracy of technical documentation as appropriate
• Troubleshooting and investigation of system problems in dev/test environments
• Proactively identifying and suggesting improvements and enhancements to working practices
• Demonstrating a "can do" attitude and a sense of responsibility for the wider implications of software engineering
• Demonstrating a proactive approach to all areas of work
• Demonstrating a flexible approach necessary for the role as business requirements and their relative priorities are subject to review and change
• Provide assistance to testers and support team as needed to determine system problems
• Responsible for development of new programs, analyses current programs and processes, and making recommendations
