Job Mission

Cegeka is a System Integrator that provides Managed Services for multiple customers across Europe on a 24 by 7 basiThe STAID (Shared Technology And Infrastructure Delivery) Division is structured on 3 main levels of technical competence: Support Engineer, System Engineer and Architect. The 3 levels act as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.

As a Monitoring Engineer (Support Engineer), you will be integrated in an existing Team ofMonitoring Engineers and 6 Developers which are maintaining the Cegeka global monitoring environment and writing software to automate the internal processes.

You will play an important role in the architecture of the infrastructure and provide 2nd line support for operational monitoring activities. In addition to this, you will develop good scripting capabilities for automation purposes, learn new skills on how to configure databases, webservers, load balancing, replication, etc.

You will work under normal business hours. However, you may be involved in a stand-by schedule that occurs outside business hours.

Position Responsibilities
  • Install/configure and maintain Linux based systems
  • Configure/develop and deploy Zenoss monitoring solutions on different type of environments
  • Troubleshoot basic and complex monitoring related issues on network and software level
  • Develop custom monitoring checks and automate monitoring processes using different scripting languages
  • Analysis of support requests assigned to the Monitoring Team
  • Ticket follow-up and escalation in accordance with priority, impact and SLA’s
  • Ownership and responsibility for all tickets assigned to the Monitoring queue’s
  • Working in close collaboration with your colleagues to ensure that service delivery to the customer is a true omni-channel experience
  • Attendance to external trainings and team meetings

What You Should Have
  • Experience or interest with Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Good understanding of a server architecture
  • Relevant experience with Zenoss or any other monitoring solution as SCOM, Nagios, Grafana, Prometheus etc.
  • Ability to install/configure and maintain Linux/Windows environments
  • Hands on experience with monitoring methodologies like SNMP, Winrm, SNMP Traps, agent/agentless, rrdtool, etc. or willingness to learn them
  • Troubleshooting skills on different levels (networking, OS, etc.) for different environments

Nice To Have
  • Experience with DevOps related technologies (Ansible, Docker, Git, Jenkins etc.)
  • Scripting experience in a scripting language like Python/Bash/Powershell or any other similar language
  • Knowledge of HA/redundant setups (drbd, pacemaker), replication technologies for databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with ITIL
