Infrastructure Lead with Automation- Worldpay Technology Products

The Fintech hub is meant to create a new high-caliber location for Group Technology and Engineering (GTE). GTE is structured around the design, build and maintenance of innovative systems, products and services. GTE works in partnership with customer-facing teams to innovate and build reliable and secure products and services across many industries.

Key Purpose Of The Role

This role is for a hybrid designer and engineer for overall infrastructure delivery from design to implementation for a major business area – in this case Worldpay WDS. Successful candidate will have experience of working with middleware and web/batch application deployment. Good knowledge of Linux and Linux engineering will also be beneficial.

Manage infrastructure design & engineering across all Worldpay WDS projects, ensuring timely delivery of high quality artefacts, infrastructure solutions and designs, detailed specifications and engineering builds that meet the requirements of each project.

This role requires the successful applicant to engineer, deliver, automate and document the middleware build and integration for one or more environments containing Springboot, Weblogic, Coherence and JMS and integrating with Oracle IAM and database.

The role will include the creation, validation and approval of Worldpay Middleware infrastructure standards and engineering of middleware products as relates to Worldpay’s standards and requirements, taking into account enterprise technology strategy/architecture, business requirements, industry direction, technology innovation and input from 3rd party delivery partners.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure Oracle middleware engineering builds and automation are in place that support the business and regulatory requirements and that drive simplification across Worldpay technology.
Engineer middleware products, through a deep understanding of technologies such as:

• Springboot Tomcat middleware based deployments
• Oracle Weblogic & Fusion Middleware 11g & 12c or equivalent Java Enterprise application servers such as JBoss
• Caching Technologies such as Oracle Coherence or equivalent such as Hazelcast
• Oracle HTTP Server
• Apache Tomcat
• Additionally, integration of middleware designs and products in conjunction with the following technologies:Oracle & SQL Databases, Strong Linux Skills, Networks – Firewalls, DDOS, F5 LTM & GTM, Security tooling – Qualys, Quest, SIEM, Splunk, Operational Tooling – OEM, Ansible, Windows;
• Container technologies such as Docker, Openshift or Kubernetes is desirable
  
  

Experience

• Requirements capture and syndication with stakeholders across the business and technology stack.
• Extensive understanding across the breadth of IT Infrastructure with a proven track record of delivery in a variety of roles e.g. infrastructure engineering, infrastructure architecture, systems administration, technical support, project management, application development.
• Prior experience of hands-on operational support for escalation and resolution of technical issues.
• Experience managing enterprise level on-premise infrastructure
• Knowledge of security aspects of financial trading/monetary transfer systems; including but not limited to PCI Compliance, DDoS prevention, IDS and regulatory audit requirements
• Strategic awareness, infrastructure technology expertise and a proven track record of delivering complex multi-faceted infrastructure solutions from inception through to successful operation.
• Ability to take complex, multi-faceted ideas, objectives or problems and work with them through to simple solutions recognising synergies and options.
• Shows a desire to take the initiative, moving issues forward with clarity. Demonstrates an ability to think ‘outside the box’ while defining solutions in a workable form.
• Proven ability to accurately estimate and plan project activities
• Ability to work within an agile/devops environment.
• Automated deployment experience, including Jenkins, Sonar, Nexus, Maven, Puppet, Ansible.
