The High Performance Computing (HPC) Solutions Development team is seeking a highly motivated HPC Solution Engineer with a background in High Performance Computing configuration, deployment, administration, and maintenance.  The candidate will be a member of a global team developing and testing a variety of HPC cluster configurations and software that help administer HPC deployment

 

This position will also provide technical engineering support for EMEA-based HPC customer deploymentThe candidate will assist the Principle HPC Architect to help with systems planning, installation, implementation, integration, performance analysis, issue triage, & maintenance of complex cluster configuratioThe scope of support includes all HPC related hardware, software and infrastructure.

 Responsibilities:

• Assist with development & validation of Lenovo’s HPC cluster management software xCAT & Confluent
• Provide efficient and effective HPC customer support of HPC-related hardware, software, and infrastructure components to maximize the performance and availability of HPC solutions
• Assist in the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures for operation, maintenance, and repair of HPC hardware, software, and infrastructure components
• Ensure all HPC-related data and documentation is added to and maintained current within the Knowledge Data

Skills Required:

• C Programming
• Scripting languages (. Bash, Python, Perl, Shell Scripting)
• Open Source Software Process Management
• Proficiency with multi-vendor hardware/software management, security, network/Internet protocols
• Parallel File Systems (GPFS, Lustre, etc)
• Linux system administration
• May require any of the following: problem identification/resolution, performance management/tuning, and design configuration/planning.
• Knowledge of related large-scale computing systems and/or product installs and maintenance.
• Ability to provide technical leadership and management of complex large-scale computing systems projects. Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical audience.
• Scripting languages (. Python, Perl, Shell Scripting)
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications / Experience:

5 years' relevant experience with system administration of HPC systems including installation, maintenance, support or an equivalent combination in a complex computing environmentExperience working with the following:  GPU’s, Containers in an HPC environment, OpenStack, Operating Systems, servers.
