The Lenovo solutions development team is seeking a highly motivated software engineer with deep technical knowledge of software architecture and application candidate will be a member of a global team developing reference architectures for a variety of solution workloads such as database, virtualization and Cloud applications.

 

Skills Required:

• 5+ years MS SQL Server Administration experience
• Microsoft SQL Server certification is desirable
• Working experience with performance tuning and optimization, using native monitoring and
• Working experience with backups, restores and recovery models. Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server is necessary
• Must have experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory be able to install and configure SQL Server (including servers, fabric and storage) and software (applications, OS, drivers and firmware)
• Ability to assess application performance / resource utilization and be able to optimize / tune for maximum performance is necessary

 

Candidate should have working knowledge in following areas:

• Microsoft SQL Server
• Microsoft Windows Server
• Computer architecture knowledge (Memory hierarchy, processors, GPUs, etc.).
• RedHat and SUSE Linux System Administration
• GIT or other source code control knowledge a plus
• Application performance / optimization
• Hardware-Administration, including Diagnosis
• Hardware- Software-Configuration

 

Specific tasks required include: building configuration, install workload, execute performance benchmarks, debug / root cause issues identified, define optimal settings across a range of use case parameterBased on the findings, a reference architecture will be created and published which included workload sizing guides, platform configuration details and a recommended Lenovo bill of material

Excellent written and oral communications is required. Strong teamwork is essential. Experience working as part of a broader, global team preferred.

 

Qualifications / Experience:

• Bachelors in computer science or engineering
• Solutions workload experience is required
• SQL Server and Windows Server certifications
