The Lenovo HPC (High Performance Computing) solutions development team is seeking a highly motivated solutions engineer with strong technical knowledge of data center hardware and computer architecture. The candidate will be a member of a global team developing, validating and releasing HPC solutions based on Lenovo x86 servers, OEM and Lenovo fabric interconnect, and Lenovo storage.  

Skills Required:

• Working knowledge of data center hardware components, including networking, servers and storage
• Basic computer architecture knowledge (memory hierarchy, processors, GPUs, etc.)
• Ability to create and maintain Bill-of-Materials (BOM) and product structures, subassemblies and
• Entrepreneurial mindset that supports the ability to create and fine-tune current business processes
• Experience working in global, cross-functional team to improve processes and increase efficiency

A plus:

• Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
• Basic understanding of Python and/or Perl
• GIT or other source code control knowledge
• Exposure to/understanding of Lenovo release processes, especially the hardware release process.
• Knowledge of worldwide regulatory requirements for product release.

 

Specific tasks:Work with solution architects to create BOM for each release and maintain as needed;  with guidance from EC lead, create and release product release structures, leveraging existing scripts and writing new ones to gain efficiencies; work with solution architect to create and maintain “Best Recipe” of validated and supported hardware and software for each major and minor release, including updates for security fixes;  execute Lenovo PCRB process to release HPC-solution-only hardware components as

Candidate must be self-motivated and able to work completely self-directed once training completed

Excellent written and oral communications is required. Strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications / Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or business (with hardware and basic programming knowledge).
• Solutions development experience is recommended.
