The challenge

Behind everything the Adobe Digital Marketing’s customers see online is the architecture built by the Technical Operations team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Adobe platforms for Digital Marketing, we make Adobe Digital Marketing’s product portfolio possible. As a Core Services Manager, you lead a team of highly talented team composed of DevOps, cloud specialists and software engineers, that are responsible for missing critical infrastructure services for Digital Marketing. The ability to communicate well is crucial, and you manage multiple initiatives with multiple engineers potentially across multiple teams in order to achieve Adobe’s reliability and efficiency goals. You thrive on innovation and driving ideas forward, you enjoy working cross-functionally.

What You’ll Do

Build and serve a successful and highly motivated team of engineers by:
  • Participating in the hiring panel for scaling the team;
  • Coaching and mentoring your team, ensuring each team member receives fair & on-time feedback;
  • Designing & coordinating efficient onboardings;
  • Establishing a trust-based environment in a globally distributed team;
  • Coaching and guiding the team in challenging situations, on their way to the mastery;

Establish Systematic Reliability And Quality Assurance Best Practices By
  • Solving problems relating to mission critical services and building automation to prevent problem recurrence and scale the business.
  • Continuously monitoring and improving Incident Response process;
  • Establishing consistent and timely communication practices, including incident status reports, QSRs, OLA reports and others.
  • Ensuring Continous Service Improvement by using an Agile approach
Drive and/or support implementation and operation for the team services by:
  • Working closely with US peers and managers, aligning on prioritization and enabling the team to offer technology and services to other internal SRE and Engineering teams
  • Facilitating local team communication and collaboration by using an Agile methodology
  • Influencing and driving new strategic projects, initiatives, standards, service roadmaps and best practices in IT Operations and Software Engineering.
  • Ensuring operational maintenance of platforms and services;
  • Automating to maintain efficiency and foster continuous flow.

Facilitate Collaboration With Other Stakeholders By
  • Defining processes and best practices to organise seamless collaboration between internal teams;
  • Proactively engaging with other teams to improve architecture and the way of working;
  • Helping in improving the services by establishing Service Level Objectives and Error Budgets;
  • Working with internal teams to jointly establish Service Level Agreements, focusing on implementing the right monitoring to enable our customer success..

Minimum Qualifications

What you need to succeed
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing end-to-end lifecycle of Infrastructure and/or Software Engineering projects.
  • Technical knowledge and background, having the ability to understand the current context and solution architectures; capable of technical deep-dives into code, operating systems, networking, storage, containerization, virtualization, and cloud environments.
  • Strong people management and leadership skills;
  • Strong communication and self-organizing skills;
  • Solid background in software engineering and infrastructure/cloud operations;
  • A proactive and can-do attitude;
  • Ability to work calm under pressure;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Experience of working in a global environment and of managing global teams
  • Understanding of working in a Matrix Management based reporting system

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in designing and implementing scalable cloud based solution architectures for PaaS, IaaS or SaaS.
  • Experience with compute technologies (virtualization and containers), automation and/or open source software.
