What does the Cloud Operations team do ?


Cloud Operations are our team of super-human Engineers who support our customer’s cloud infrastructure as a managed service.

We have an awesome Bi-Modal service that offers our customers peace of mind with enterprise level, ITIL driven support, as well as offer all the agile, funky advantages that DevOps and Automation provides. They get their hands dirty across a wide range of technologies including AWS, Azure, Linux, MS SQL, Chef, Splunk, Lambda and and many more.

This is the perfect opportunity for someone coming out of an advanced security focussed degree, a security focussed Systems Administrator or Security Engineer who would love to explore all the awesome features of cloud technology.

 



How will you spend your time at Cloudreach?


  • Act as a Cloud Security focussed SME for our customers as we engage with them across all areas of Cloud Adoption.
  • Support the development and monitoring of Cloudreach Security Management processes and supporting tools ensuring we meet our ISO270001 obligations plus our customer / contractual obligations.
  • Monitor security industry trends, developments and emerging threats including sharing insight with wider team and customers where appropriate
  • Lead the adoption of third-party security solutions for our customers and across the organisation.
  • Implement a tools driven and highly automated approach to deliver our key security management processes by exploiting investment in existing tooling (e.g. ServiceNow, Chef, Splunk) and / or identify new tooling
  • Ensure the Global Cloud Operations team has, or is actively developing, the skills required to successfully deliver managed service security solutions
  • Lead the response to security incidents including assessment of customer impact and the development and implementation of mitigation and remediation actions
  • Regularly engage with our Competencies and Product Development teams to ensure our features and roadmap for our cloud security solutions continue to evolve to meet the needs of the Cloud Operations team, wider business and our customers
  • Engage with our strategic and solution partners to ensure Cloud Operations retains required partner accreditations
  • Travel will include ad-hoc visits to customers as well as other Cloudreach offices to support the delivery of Cloud Operations managed security solutions


 

How to stand out?


  • Good understanding of current and future best practices for IT security operations and can adapt this to support the delivery of cloud based managed services at a global scale
  • Awareness of cloud technologies from providers such as AWS and Microsoft Azure including security capabilities / services and security configuration best practice
  • Good understanding of security management solutions including IDS, IPS, SIEM, Vulnerability Scanning, Denial of Service and Continued Compliance
  • A strong willingness to automate, script wherever possible. As such must be at ease with at least one high level common programming language (python, ruby...).
  • Experience across Linux and/or Microsoft Windows based platforms
  • Awareness to ISO 27001 and other relevant industry standards including PCI.
  • Any experience with continuous deployment (chef, puppet, ansible) tooling would be a plus
  • Ability to work under pressure particularly when responding to security related incidents which may affect one or more customers
  • Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to adapt style and language depending on the audience (e.g. technical, commercial and business stakeholders)
  • Flexible approach to working hours including willingness to work shifts and provide out-of-hours support
