What Is The Role We’re Hiring?
Reporting to the Vice President/General Manager for the Commercial Vehicle (CV) Global Business Enterprise (GBE), the Cost Leader will be responsible for maximizing the profitability within the vertical with optimized material costs and price.
Responsibilities:

1) Post SOP Material Margin Management
- Responsible for business Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as: Material Margin %, Cost Out Road-map dollars achieved, Value Engineering and Re-Sourcing dollars (pipeline and execution)
- Ensures, through Customer Program Managers (CPMs) and Technical Program Managers (TPMs), monthly project updates using Garrett tools: Material Margin Tracker, Product Quotation Form (PQF) Manager, transactional price tracking tool.
- Drive GBE Value Engineering Management Operating System (MOS): weekly team review, escalations, deep-dive
- Ensure key actions are tracked in the eLaunch tool, escalate in Tiered Accountability Meetings (TAM) level 3 > 5, as appropriate
- Drive reviews on Material Margin improvement on Top 20 GBE Applications, set proper MOS and ensure cross-functional attendance
- Monitor with Finance, Material Margin per Customer Account, and drive appropriate mitigation plan
- Track key Material Margin driver, for example, volumes, pricing, Fx, material cost.

2) Support Bids & New Product Introduction (NPI) Phases
- Manage, coach and develop the GBE Product Cost Leaders (PCLs) who are responsible for establishing the Bill of Material cost targets during bid phase.
- Work with Program Managers (PMs) to ensure cost targets are met, tracking material margin at Award through SOP, drive mitigation and escalate gaps as appropriate
- Implement audit plan for adherence to the Transactional Pricing process in SalesForce.com (SFDC), assess and drive progress for optimal transactional pricing, working with the Customer Management team.

3) Continuous improvement
- With her or his peers, enhance PCL tools and database for efficiency and accuracy improvements
- Drive Value Engineering and Re-Sourcing ideation process and new initiatives to increase pipeline

4) People Management
- Responsible for the functional management of the PCLs, actively involved in the recruitment, coaching, development, goal setting, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure process adherence throughout the GBE organization.

You have these Basic Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Preferred Mechanical), Economics, Finance, Sourcing or similar
- 5+ years experience in Sourcing, Program Management, Customer Management , Engineering, or Operations in the automotive industry
3+ years experience in managing teams in challenging technical and global environments

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

- Advanced level of verbal and written communication skills, conflict resolution abilities and group facilitation skills. Language - Fluent English.
- Comfortably interacts with cross functional teams at all levels of organizational structure.
- Team oriented and demonstrated ability to coordinate and motivate multiple functions.
- Strong analytical skills: in-depth understanding of key financial and technical cost drivers, and ability to link to GBE, customer teams, SBM and corporate financials.
- Demonstrates Leadership on successfully managing high level plan and execution management for multiple projects.
- In depth understanding of product total cost structure, value and price assessment, Product and Application Business cases.
