Unix/Linux Server Engineer

We are looking for a person who is expected to ensure Linux/ Cloud environment health by performing updates, installations, troubleshooting, recovery management and maintenance of the existing and new features of our infrastructure which include solutions like: RedHat, Azure cloud, VMWare.

What you will be doing:

• Monitor Server performance and perform appropriate tuning operations.
• Troubleshoot operations for server performance and throughput problems.
• You will be helping with the planning and implementation of refreshed hardware, respecting the Hardware Lifecycle process and the hardware deployment and imaging procedures.
• You will occasionally perform on-site physical implementation when relevant.
• Reporting and data mining will be a key task using defined reporting tools
• Reporting various metrics: server uptime, storage free space, etc.
• Forecasts server capacity needs for memory, storage & CPU.
• Forecasts server performance and throughput behavior under various workload profiles.
• Ensure proper data backup configuration and monitoring and on-demand or test restores, tape management included.
• You will use analysis tools, automated monitoring and troubleshooting software to diagnose and correct server performance and connectivity problems.

Qualifications:

• Experience with RedHat 6/ 7
• Experience with Azure cloud or AWS.
• 2+ years of working experience in a similar role
• Experience in workign with the following technologies: RedHat 6/7, Azure Cloud, VMWare ESX, ESXi, VSphere, Vcenter, SQL Server, data storage, networking
• English – advanced, French & German will be considered a plus
