We are looking for an enthusiastic technical writer, to help us deliver excellent product documentation.

 

As Technical Writer, you will:

  • Collaborate with development teams to deliver top quality documentation for our customers (both internal and external target audiences)
  • Reviewing documentation
  • Training the development teams on documentation guidelines
  • Providing feedback on language and document structure
  • Restructuring or reauthoring documentation
  • Assist with the migration of existing documentation to topic-based authoring
  • Establish a quality mindset with respect to documentation
  • Help installing a solid documentation process in the organization
  • Gather feedback on documentation from end users such as external customers, professional services consultants and customer support


Essential Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Have 3+ years of relevant working experience
  • Have 2+ years of experience in structured writing
  • Have excellent English writing skills
  • Are a fluent communicator
  • Know how to use XML, DITA or related formats and standards with technical authoring tools such as oXygen, FrameMaker (to name a few)
  • Have experience compiling easy-to-follow, concise, well-formatted information for a specific audience
  • Have a keen eye for detail regarding spelling, grammar, and formatting according to style conventions
  • Know the ins and outs of common MS Office tools like Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Have a proven track record of working in a team with interdepartmental collaboration focus
  • Work responsibly, in a methodical and organized manner
  • Are able to provide the right info, at the right time, to the right audience
  • Identify opportunities for improved efficiencies
  • Demonstrate pro-active behavior
  • Are fluent in English (C1 level); knowledge of other languages is considered an asset

 

Bonus skills:

  • Basic experience with creating instructional eLearning assets (using Adobe Captivate)
  • Familiarity with the principles and tools of basic HTML, CSS and web design
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly with new software and technologies
