SQL DBA
SCC SQL DBA Team provides support services to SCC customers around SQL Server Database Administration, Development and Design. Some of the primary responsibilities of SQL DBA role include administration of SQL Server, resolving SQL Server related incidents (performance tuning, availability etc), build new SQL Server environments, working with the Senior DBA’s to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems or new SQL infrastructure designs.
Role and Responsibilities
The main roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Maintenance, tuning and support for MS SQL Server infrastructure;
- Participate in IT projects in various phases analysis/design/testing/environment preparation/change impact analysis;
- Test and execute/implement back-up, recovery and maintenance plans;
- Maintenance of SQL Server instances, including patching and upgrades.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Experience in SQL Server Database Administration;
- Strong understanding of SQL Server database architecture;
- Good knowledge of SQL Server technologies;
- Good knowledge of Windows OS administration concepts.
Preferred Skills
- Minimum 2 years experience in Database platform administration;
- Good Powershell scripting skills;
- IT experience with technical knowledge in any of the areas: network, virtualisation, storage, Windows administration is a plus.
