We, at Flywire, are looking for a Ruby developer responsible for building Ruby applications, including anything from complex groups of back-end micro services to command line utilities and data processing scripts. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and building quality products is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
  • Keep a fluid communication with the Product Owner
  • Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
  • Be a mentor for other developers


Minimum Skills And Qualifications
  • BS Computer Science or equivalent
  • 6+ years of experience in web technologies
  • Expertise around object-oriented programming
  • Strong understanding of the syntax of Ruby and its nuances
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • A background doing implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Familiarity with continuous integration
