8x8 is looking for a Software Developer in Test who is passionate about delivering quality through test automation for web applications and cares deeply about delivering the most value to end users as quickly and safely as possible.

You are passionate and can elaborate on the pros and cons of different test automation frameworks

Responsibilities

Get familiar with the product and business knowledge

Take part in all application development life cycle phases, according to the agreed Test Strategy

Attend SCRUM ceremonies and other important meetings

Experience in refining functional requirements together with the Product Owner and the team

Work closely with the Product Owner, Developers and QA in order to deliver the tasks in time and with the expected quality

Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs

Troubleshoot, analyze and isolate defects and report them to an issue and project tracking software

Manage and maintain test environments

Investigated, reproduced and characterized defects and test failures resulted from customer feedback

Execute test cases across the functional areas of the application

Develop and execute automation tests using the given (Java based) test automation frameworks

Perform test automation on the following levels: UI, API and End to End

Analyze and follow-up test execution reports and set the proper corrective actions if needed

Perform code reviews and address code for review

Research and improve existing automation framework

Stay up-to-date with new testing tools, solutions and strategies

Understand and implement test automation best practices from the project

Design, develop and automate test execution in automation servers (Jenkins) facilitating continuous integration

Qualifications

Being familiar with Quality Assurance terms, standards, strategies and procedures

Skill for writing reusable Java code using testing frameworks like Selenium WebDriver, REST Assured, Cucumber (or other frameworks)

Familiar with various design and architectural patterns in testing is a plus

Familiar with Java (or other OOP language) with good understanding of object-oriented programming

Experience creating and maintaining UI automation (front-end) tests

Experience creating and maintaining API automation (front-end) tests is a plus

Analytical and/or report-writing programming experience

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process as an Agile tester

Familiar with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence or any other issue and project tracking software

Good understanding of SDLC

Familiar with various operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux)

Excellent organizational abilities

Good self-management skills

Team player, self-motivated, eager to learn and result oriented

Have a strong attention to detail and be able to think outside the box

Outstanding communication skills (English)

Proactive, problem solver, independent

Analytical mind and problem-solving skills

Ability to work as part of a self-organizing team, take initiative and be a team player

MS in CS / EE / CE or related engineering discipline

Experience in performance testing is a plus

Experience with computer networking concepts and protocols is a plus
