Site Reliability Engineer (DevOps)

We, at Flywire, are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering team. Here, you will be responsible for building and evolving our infrastructure to support applications and give the best tools and assistance to our growing team of developers.

We treat our infrastructure as code. While we are still using configuration management tools (like Chef) and some homebrew glue to deploy and orchestrate our code rollouts, we’re preparing the migration to a new cluster in Kubernetes that provides immutable, disposable, container-based, scalable and multi-tenant infrastructure. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be tasked with helping us get our infrastructure to the next level.

Key Responsibilities

• Expand and create new internal tools that enable our development team to scale effectively such as our deployment pipeline, ChatOps, development and test environments
• Improve the stability of our production platform, advancing the ability of our services and making it more fault-tolerant
• Work as part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary squad that supports various regional teams in their day-to-day operations

Minimum Skills And Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working as an SRE with multiple development teams and service-oriented architecture
• Experience working in a regulated environment such as PCI, SSAE-16 or SOC2
• A love for UNIX operating systems and experience in Linux based distros such as CoreOS or Debian
• An understanding of infrastructure as code and limit changes to configuration management tooling
• A comfort level using cloud technologies like AWS, GCE or container schedulers like Kubernetes
• A passion for learning and contributing to the development of others through code reviews, tech talks, or mentoring
• A no-fear approach to coding in your day-to-day work
• Experience working in agile and continuous delivery environment
• Fluency in English, as it is the company’s working language; other languages are a plus
