The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and testing of Dynamic Simulations projects. The Senior Engineer will be involved from initial client discussions through to commissioning of solutions. The role requires European-based travel (50%).

Responsibilities
  • Customer Relations – Work effectively at various levels with clients and European consultant/ sales team to assist in definition of business needs and demonstrate our product and services capabilities
  • Project Execution – Develops and delivers detailed Simulation solutions through project activities. Support and execute projects that involve technologies such as process simulation; dynamic simulation lifecycle, control integration and all aspects of operator training simulation
  • Project Management – supports the Lead Engineer or Project Manager in the development of a realistic and achievable project schedule and provide them with all necessary information to ensure that they are fully informed of resource requirements, progress and areas of risk for the Lead Engineer’s allocated engineering deliverables
  • Communications – interaction with company and client managers and cost/schedule monitoring. Provide lead engineering and technical authority on parts of simulation projects
  • Procurement – supports the Lead Engineer or Project Manager in the development of the procurement list, including detailed specifications for any sub-contracted works and services where relevant, along with required delivery dates
  • Scope control – understands the scope of work for all allocated engineering deliverables and ensure that it is delivered to the requisite quality, budget and schedule and that the relevant Lead Engineer or Project Manager is fully informed, at the earliest opportunity, of any customer initiated changes in scope
  • HSE/Quality control – ensures that all engineering activities are undertaken in accordance with the Company’s quality control processes and that the relevant standard is achieved – adheres to company’s and customer HSEQ standards at all times
  • Team building – supports the Lead Engineer or Project Manager in the creation of an inclusive and supportive environment for all personnel within the project team and actively support team members in achieving any personal development objectives that may have been set for the project
  • Proposals/sales support – Work closely with European Offices to enhance and develop solutions / products / offerings
  • Technical knowledge – problem identification, system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment
  • Other Duties – Performs other additional specific duties, when requested by the business.

Requirements
  • University degree in Chemical Engineering, Control Engineering or any Process Engineering related specialization.
  • 3+ years of relevant industry experience in process simulation and engineering in industries such as but not limited to Hydrocarbons, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Life Sciences. simulation experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills: confident with customer interactions, presentations and discussions;
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and planning skills
  • Local language skills with proficient English (verbal and written); Second language is a plus
  • Software skills: good knowledge and solid experience with dynamic simulation and modelling of processes in software such as HYSYS, UniSim, Petro-SIM, MIMIC, KSPICE, DYNSIM, etc.
  • Knowledge of process control configuration in DeltaV or other similar software is a plus
  • Willingness to travel as required
