The role is responsible to develop and implement simulation solutions for ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety System) projects. Working closely with European front offices, the Senior ICSS Simulation Engineer will be involved from initial planning and design, to implementation with the front office and customer. The role requires European-based travel (50%).
Responsibilities
- Supports the Process Automation team to develop MiMiC solutions (low & medium fidelity models) including documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code.
- Leads the design of simulation solutions, including resource planning, defining processes, standards and the necessary technology
- Assures knowledge transfer between the global simulation team and the ICSS global team.
- Participates in implementing the technical infrastructure (hardware, software, networking) required for project execution
- Provides support during the main projects testing phases to ensure the simulation of the ICSS (Integrated Control and Safety System) is correctly configured and used.
- Leads the implementation of the ICSS simulation and ensures that front office and client expectation have been addressed
- Provides documentation, support and training for clients and users, sometimes even on site
- Executes conversion plans and documents possible improvements; identifies disruptions in processes and team development strategies
- Mentors junior and mid-level engineers
- Makes informed decisions quickly and takes ownership of services and applications
- Works collaboratively with others to achieve goals
- Degree in Process Automation or IT.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with applications / installations within the Process Industry.
- Familiarity with MiMiC process simulation software and DeltaV, VBA is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience in process automation, systems and instrumentation. Communication protocols experience is a plus.
- Experience with project engineering, FAT & commissioning of control systems.
- Good communications skills and fluent in English – written and spoken, second language is a plus.
- Willingness to work at customer site and potentially abroad for a limited period.
