Our Sales Enablement team supports the internal sales organization to translate our insights into solutions for our customers. Our goal is to improve the experience that customers, design firms and dealers have with Steelcase.

 

For our EMEA Team, we are looking for a Proposal Coordinator based in Cluj.

The group is responsible for creating significant, positive, innovative and memorable impact on regional sales, the tailoring of the client experience, being a single point of entry for sales (coordinating sales enabling functions) & creating customer-specific communication materials.

 

Your mission:
  • Working with the sales organization, the Proposal Coordinator organizes an internal cross-functional team including sales representatives & SMEs. They understand client needs, select and align resources, prepare the proposal strategy, assign responsibilities, manage the process, ensure timely, accurate, branded, customized and compelling content is prepared and delivered for optimal outcome.
  • Responsible for contributing to profitable wins (with a win rate of 50%+) and to increased sales productivity.
  • Being a strategic co-pilot to the regional sales team, through leading the Steelcase sales proposal and/or creation of customized presentations for complex, major projects and contributing to the design & delivery of client experiences.
  • Engaged in the sales process on accounts or when specific opportunities have been identified.
  • Growing the partnership with the dealer network, supporting local initiatives; forming & fostering positive relationships with colleagues from cross-functional groups (Pricing; R&D; Product Marketing and all sales support departments).
  • Influencing the tender process, increasing wins through insightful, qualitative, tailored & timely responses; potentially becoming a coach/ mentor to more junior members of the Proposal team.
  • The role implies capability of managing sales opportunities and resource requirements to build and deliver the most appropriate output (positioning pieces, presentations, request for information and request for proposals).
  • The role is also responsible for gathering, organizing and maintaining various documents needed for proposals, to be obtained from other internal sources such as Finance, Sustainability or Operations and to populate and maintain a common Knowledge Library.

 

Key tasks

Prioritize:

  • Possess strong market knowledge and closely work with sales and sales enablement leadership on prioritizing top strategic opportunities and find the right balance of resources engaged in support.
  • Use the CRM in place to validate priorities, optimize communication, team collaboration & tracking of critical achievements.

 

Strategize:

  • Guide the project team in developing and supporting the strategy, exercise discretion on issues in a proposal response, bring own expertise and experience to the team, defining the approach, organization, information structuring, format, etc.

 

Orchestrate:

  • Determine & involve necessary resources, key partners to support and/ or execute the defined tasks.
  • Clearly define roles & responsibilities in the project team and align team members on objectives; act as a business partner to the sales lead.
  • Connect with key departments to assure all requirement are met.
  • Manage timelines, deadlines and development of required output.
  • Capture key learning and continually improve toward desired outcome.

 

Co-create:

  • Write custom-tailored content according to the client's needs and our strategic intent.
Tactical:
  • Use internal tools and connect with SMEs to compile the entire bid package.

Networking:

  • Build strong strategic partnership with Sales, Dealers, support functions (Sales Enablement, Mock-up, etc.) and the community rallied around the projects.
  • Cooperating with the Global Sales Resource Network Team (in the Americas & APAC).

 

To succeed in this role, you have the following profile:

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Communication or Marketing.
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in project or program management is a requirement.
  • Experience in proposal management a plus.
  • 2 - 5 years’ experience in sales, marketing or sales support functions desirable.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Customer-centric approach, strong business sense and an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Very strong planning & organizing skills.
  • Demonstrated high proficiency in applying the principles, concepts and practices of proposal management.

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate internal/external cross-functional teams under tight time frames.
  • Ability to communicate written and verbal, in English, with all organizational layers, internally and externally.

Your Future Team:

The team includes a local Sales Enablement Regional Leader, other Proposal Coordinators and collaborates with various cross-functional teams and very closely with Graphic Designers and Interior/Application Designers.


Your team coordinates the creation and delivery of communication materials to Steelcase customers, for example presentations and proposals, which persuade the customers and their consultants (architects, interior designers, facility management firms, procurement management firms) to do business with Steelcase. The team provides information about Steelcase, our capabilities, products, service levels, innovation, price, delivery, etc. based on the customers’ needs.
