Job Purpose

The Project Engineer is responsible for the successful launch of new and or existing products (Therm-O-Disc), the growth of the core and temperature sensors business, and takes the lead for project management for all temperature controls. Utilizes world class project management techniques to effectively manage assigned projects. Applies established engineering practices.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for project management for temperature sensor growth projects. Provides technical guidance to other project team members;
  • Interfaces directly with customers (customer facing) to promote platform level products and to identify, communicate, and resolve key project issues. Leads customer design reviews, and other project team meetings;
  • Assists in the development of platform level products to meet or exceed customer, agency and company requirements;
  • Works with China Engineering Center (CEC) and other engineering design centers to capture customer requirements into our product specifications: drawings, materials, component tolerances, assembly specifications, DFMEA, and test plans;
  • Coordinates and reports on work requested through the EPR system (Oracle);
  • Evaluates and approves requested product or part deviations from specifications;
  • Supervises cost estimation process for new temperature sensor products;
  • Provides input to manufacturing on customer requirements for temperature sensor projects;
  • Identifies and provides support for cost reduction programs, productivity improvements, and vendor approvals;
  • Travels to customers and Therm-O-Disc engineering centers.

Requirements
  • University degree in Engineering (electronics, electrical, mechanical or instrumentation engineering);
  • +3 years relevant experience in product design, materials, and project management with working experience in manufacturing operations being a plus;
  • Affinity with Temperature Sensors is considered a plus;
  • Good, assertive communication skills and interpersonal skills to interfaces with people at all levels;
  • Results oriented and able to work independently;
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrate dynamic work style in a continuously complex and changing environment;
  • Languages: English–advanced level, second European language will be a plus;
  • PC skills: advanced MS Office (Excel), Internet.
