Production Manager

Essential Functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Maintain a manufacturing process flow to ensure products are assembled in the most efficient and cost effective manner possible while meeting all engineering and quality standards. Continuously analyzes and evaluates manufacturing processes/programs to develop and implement process improvements dealing with safety, quality and productivity using Lean philosophy.
• Provides guidance and direction in the development and maintenance of Standard Operation Procedures and work instructions.
• Coordinates and communicates with plant scheduling function to ensure capacity utilization and understand equipment/tooling shortcomings in order to meet customer demands.
• Promote and build a team atmosphere among plant employees and departments. Proposes actions and also acts to increase motivation of shop floor employees.
• Provides direction, coordination, and influence in the training of Shift Coordinators, Supervisors, Team Leads, etc., to develop essential leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Also serves as a mentor and guide
• Participates in annual budget, capital and strategic planning, providing information on manufacturing related requirements and capabilities.
• Adequate resource planning.
• Communicates with suppliers and customers as needed and lead and coach investigation activities into customer complaints and implement countermeasures.
• Maintains overall responsibility for ensuring a safe, clean work environment. Works with appropriate support departments to maintain and improve the safety and material condition of the facility.

Requirements:

• University degree, preferably Technical area. Automotive industry experience is required. IATF-16949 and ISO 14000 experience would be an advantage.
• 5 years of related experience. Additional education may be substituted for experience and vice versa.
• Considerable knowledge of management practices and policy interpretation to independently evaluate, select, and apply techniques and standards.
• Experience in Lean, Six Sigma manufacturing environment preferred, would be considered a strong plus.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function independently and as a part of a team.
