Operations Engineer – Inside Business Portal

Mission

ING is looking for an enthusiastic IT Operations Engineer who is technically passionate, solution-focused and able to improve the platform and delivery automation. Ensure and support stable and performing applications, part of Inside Business Portal.

Your day-to-day

• Together with your IT colleagues in Amsterdam, you will support and run applications of Inside Business Portal on all environments including Production. Applications currently in scope are ChillBill - a chat bot that uses Oracle DB and Google Dialog Flow and IDL - a documents engine that aims to be a gateway between the documents generated from the Service Request module and CommonCore – an external document repository;
• Take care of incident management, and root cause analysis in case of unavailability and data quality issues;
• Implement and work with the latest tooling with a strong focus on performance, stability and security. We are using and complying the CDaaS pipeline (Content Delivery as a Service);
• Find opportunities to automate deployments, monitoring, and support in the testing of existing features, performance, reporting and security. This is a key responsibility of the Operations Engineers;
• IT Risk & security controls need to be put in place and accurately documented and monitored (OCD Portal);
• Through Agile/Scrum you bring live new sprint releases roughly once one or two months (planned) or by request;
• You will be part of the DevOps team in Romania but work close with your Ops peers in Amsterdam.

What you bring to the team

• Solid understanding of Linux Shell (Bash or Ksh), Jenkins, Git, Maven, Artifactory, Docker;
• 3+ experience in an Operations role;
• Nice to have: npm, Ansible, Sonar, Python;
• General knowledge of networking, Unix OS, monitoring tools (prometheus), databases, ITIL, Gitlab, experience in ServiceNow or Fortify are considered a plus;
• You are tenacious and have an analytical mindset;
• You are able to share your knowledge with team members and provide assistance where necessary;
• Occasional travel will be expected to share knowledge and increase team collaboration;
• Professional proficiency in the English language and an ability to work in an international environment.
