Network Transition Engineer

Works as part of the Global Implementation/Service Transition Group, within ETS/Information Security, to engineer services to be delivered and operated in a globally consistent manner by Service Delivery/Operations.

This role will be predominately focused on Wide Area Networking including the support of an internal platform that makes use of WAN segmentation. In addition the role will also be involved in the evaluation/deployment of SD-WAN into the Emerson environment.

Implementation Engineering

• Works on multiple simultaneous projects to implement new technologies and configuration in conjunction with other ETS/Security Groups.
• Serves as technical consultant on divisional network projects
• Acts as a lead and subject expert for certain technologies/services within the group as assigned
  

Service Transition

• Participates in the ETS/Security Release Management Process for New Services and ongoing Service Feature releases to include, but not limited to:
• Working with Service Design on the initial service concept ensuring a handover to Service Transition
• Working in a cross functional team to develop the service and required deliverables
• Working with Service Delivery/Operations to train and handover the service such that it can be delivered and supported consistently
• Participates in and applies the same Process for subsequent service releases as defined by the Service Roadmap
• Acts an interface between Service Design and Service Delivery/Operations
  

Fourth Level Support

• Provides 4th level support to Operations for escalated issues and drives these to resolution
• Works with Design Engineering on chronic Problems

• BA/BS in Information Systems or other specializations
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the design, implementation and operation of WAN/LAN networks with Cisco hardware
• Knowledge of ITIL v3 Foundation Concepts, particularly Design and Transition preferred
• Experience with Cisco’s Zone Based Firewall
• Experience with VRF segmentation on a Cisco Router platform and extension into the LAN environment
• Experience with an Enterprise Firewall Platform, Cisco or Palo Alto Preferred
• Knowledge of SD-WAN environments an advantage
• Cisco Qualifications, CCNA/CCDP Preferred
• Process Discipline and Documentation skills essential
• Good English language skills
• Excellent Communication and Teamwork skills
• Experience in working in a global environment is a plus
