Mid-Senior .NET Developer

Role Summary

Fortech is looking to add a mid-senior desktop developer to its team in Cluj-Napoca.

In this role, you will be the lead developer on a WPF project. You will be in direct contact with the client and will be responsible for the development of the project. The project is a Windows WPF application that controls the hardware manufactured by the client. The project is modern, newly rewritten from scratch. It uses a custom communication protocol, image recognition and placement algorithms.

This will be a dynamic environment, where you have the chance to participate throughout the complete software development lifecycle, including the design and architectural decisions and to focus on software quality through peer reviews, refactoring, continuous integration and deployment.

You will be part of our NET team in Cluj-Napoca and will connect with software engineers and leaders from our client in Germany.

Your  Responsibilities 

• Analyze an existing, high-quality application
• Prepare specifications based on requirements
• Produce estimations
• Take design and architecture decisions
• Create functional design and other technical documents
• Perform code reviews
• Implement features following requirements and coding standards
• Evaluate technical alternatives and feasibility

Your Competencies 

• Experience with WPF or UWP apps, MVVM, Unit Testing
• Solid understanding of C# and .NET, OOP, Design patterns, Software development principles
• Experience with the following is a plus: working with custom hardware, various communication protocols, WPF frameworks

The Project

The project is a Windows Desktop application that allows the control of the client company’s hardware. Using image recognition, the software through hardware is capable of placing components on printed circuit boards with high precision, then executing soldering of the component by executing configurable profiles.
