The IT Desktop Support  responds to requests for technical assistance to maintain an optimal operational computing environment for the employees in the region they are assigned to.


Key responsibilities and tasks:

1. Provide Help Desk support to all EU end users.
 Evaluate, prioritize and respond to requests for assistance from users experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, and other computer-related technologies.
 Resolve computer, desk phones, mobiles, networking, printing, hardware and software related issues through in-depth troubleshooting and technical assistance.
 Log and track requests using help desk software, maintain history and related problem documentation.
 Handle problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution and follow-up, and refer more complex problems to technical staff while maintaining ownership of the issue.
 Install, document, take inventory, maintain, and troubleshoot all EU information technology assets.
 Create and delete user accounts, enforce security and compliance rules to employees and non-employees regarding passwords and access to computer systems.


2. Physically support the EU offices (primarily the Timisoara, Debrecen, Sofia and London Offices) as required by traveling to them.

3. Support other members of the IT staff on projects or support work.

4. Provide post/pre installation support including training/education of end user on basic tool set including telephones, laptops, PDAs, GoTo meeting, Skype, conference rooms, and conference bridges.

5. Provide printer hardware maintenance and troubleshooting.

6. Provide PC/laptop image management including standard department builds

7. Maintain PC Patching levels (OS, software and hardware, anti-virus).

8. Provide Hand-held phone/PDA support.

9. Handle additional responsibilities as required.

Required skills & qualifications:


Education and Experience:
 Associates degree in computer science or related field or technical certifications.
 2-5 year experience in desktop support.


Specialized Skills:
 Expert Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
 Experience of Avaya phone systems & support.
 Understanding of the Windows XP and Windows 7
 Basic understanding of computer networking
 Understanding of computer operations and trouble shooting
 Experience with PC imaging software, virus protection, and inventory software
 Understanding of desktop/laptop hardware
 Certifications (A+, MCP, Network+ Certification) are a plus
 Exposure to LANDesk a plus
