The BI and Strategic Analytics team at 8x8 is transforming the way the company does business.

The vision for this team is: provide insight and visibility into customers, prospects, partners, and competition – with a focus on data gathering, data enrichment and data analysis.

Some of the key responsibilities for the Analytics team in Cluj will be:

• Data enrichment of our customer and prospect data (use of 3rd party data enrichment tools, manual data gathering, data validation, ongoing change monitoring);
• Data gathering (web sites, industry newsletters, etc.) to monitor overall market conditions and competitive landscape;
• Preparation of datasets for data exploration / data science (pulling data from multiple internal systems, preparing merged / joined datasets, building / maintaining datasets on public/private cloud);
• Validation of data analytics / reports (e.g. comparison of data reports from Tableau Server and other analytics tools with legacy business reports), including development of automated validation tools;
• Data exploration and analysis of customer / prospect datasets;
  
  

Responsibilities

• Lead and empower a team of analysts and researchers to provide insights into customers, prospects and competition;
• Define and implement the processes and structure by which the Analytics team in Cluj will operate;
• Be the primary point of contact between the Cluj Analytics team and colleagues in other locations;
• Translate top-level objectives into actionable projects;
• Take an active and direct role in key projects, where appropriate (including: BI reporting in Tableau, data science initiatives, and other research items)
  
  

Qualifications - Required

• Team management experience;
• Ability to manage and hire junior to mid-level data analysts and data engineers;
• Strong focus on process (to enable scaling, consistency and effective coordination with global colleagues);
• Business data experience (understanding of sales and marketing processes, metrics);
• Data engineering experience (databases, ETLs, etc.);
• Familiarity with basic data science techniques;
• Functional grasp of - and good intuition for - statistical methodology and concepts;
• An excellent command of the English language - both spoken and written.
