Technical Team Leader

Thomsons’ Software Engineering team is a globally distributed one with offices in London, Cluj and Singapore, with the biggest located in Cluj, composed of +35 engineers, from Junior to Senior and Architects.

We work in an Agile environment, constantly up to date with the market needs and newest technologies in order to build a high performance and scalable product, supporting a fast and continuously growing global SaaS business.

What you will be doing:

Team Management:

• Manage, mentor, coach and grow a highly skilled, talented team of software engineers
  
• Be involved in hiring & on-boarding new team members
• Identify team development needs, be able to give constructive feedback and motivate team members
• Encourage and constantly help the team improve their skills
• Conduct performance reviews in one to one meetings
• Support the team members in their personal development plans and career growth
• Help the team become more  productive by working smarter, more efficiently and by using better techniques
• Help team members engage with the delivery goals
• Get involved in various team development projects by setting the direction regarding training activities (team huddles, technical presentations/workshops, innovation week, etc)
• Promote a healthy, collaborative, fail friendly culture that embodies Thomsons' values

Technical Leadership:

• Understand, practice and support an agile software development environment
• Partner effectively with our architects and product team to manage scope and deliverables
• Facilitate technical discussions in order to choose the best technical approach
• Contribute to writing code, code reviews and overall software development lifecycle
• Seek continuous development &innovation related to the technologies we use in order to develop Darwin

We are looking for a PINK person, with: 

•  5+ years hands-on software engineering, with 3+ years team leading experience
  
•  Extensive experience in .Net full stack development (.NET Framework C#, WCF, ASP.NET  MVC, WebApi and Core, Angular, TypeScript, MS T-SQL)
•  Experience in leading and developing people in a challenging, agile environment
  
•  Passion for technology and continuous innovation
• Open minded leader, tech adviser and coding addict
