Duties And Responsibilities

As the Plant Purchasing specialist, he/she understands and actively implements the related processes of the company. Role will support the immediate indirect purchasing needs of the plant and support the commodity strategies of the purchasing, also work on some small regional commodity projects as required.
  • Work closely with responsible plant and act as the direct liaison for the purchasing team.
  • Ensure that all pricing is accurate in the purchasing system for direct and indirect suppliers of specific plant
  • Work closely with the Commodity Purchasing to understand and support the commodity strategies in the BU
  • Work with the Commodity Team, Engineering and Supplier Development to develop new suppliers if required and/or improve capabilities of established suppliers as well
  • Understands the APQP process and related procedures, actively drive process compliance within the project team and advise of needs to improve processes and ensures all project milestones are met by suppliers
  • Coordinate with Federal-Mogul Corporation legal team to ensure contractual obligations minimize risk to the Company.
  • Maintain supplier status relating to purchasing scorecard (quote accuracy, time to quote, OTD, PPAP completion) and enforce Federal-Mogul Corporation supplier requirements.
  • Serve as focal point for escalation of all supplier relationship issues within the projects.
  • Documents contracts and price / terms changes for each component within each regional project as necessary
  • Exceeds key performance indicators (KPIs) requirements such as Annual Cost Savings, Long Term Agreement Negotiations, and Supplier Delivery/Quality Performance
  • Strategic and conceptual thinking capabilities with good understanding of contract knowledge
  • Travel to suppliers and other Federal-Mogul facilities as required for this position.
  • Goal-Oriented Self Starter capable of providing any other additional support as requested by supervisor.

EDUCATION And EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business / Materials Management or Engineering required
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Purchasing/Procurement and /or a Materials Management related field in the automotive industry.
  • Demonstrated background and proven experience with high level supplier negotiations and materials
  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills, Bilingual with English a requirement
  • Capable to quickly understand the technical requirements specific to the wiper components
