Senior .NET Desktop Developer

Role Summary

Fortech is looking to add a Senior .NET Desktop Developer to its team in Brasov.

In this role, you will be involved in a project which offers custom solutions for the progressive brokers in the Western European market. As the product evolved new features and functionalities are added in order to support the ever-demanding customer needs. Currently, we are developing a new plugin that manages all the rights for each broker using the platform.  At the same time, we are working to integrate external services into the platform.

You will be part of our .NET team and will connect with software engineers and leaders from our delivery centers and with our clients from Western Europe and the USA.

Your  Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for the development team
  
• Facilitate requirements analysis and effort estimations
  
• Contribute to design and architecture related decisions
  
• Create functional design and other technical specific documents
  
• Perform code reviews
  
• Implement features following requirements and coding standards
  
• Evaluate technical alternatives and feasibility; provide input for building detailed functional/technical design documents that offer the best solution to the problem
  
• Recommend, build, and deploy processes and procedures to enhance/support the software development lifecycle
  
• A willingness to embrace the concept of iterative development as the means for building excellent products
  
• Readiness to give all the effort necessary to do an excellent job

Your Competencies 

• Experienced in architecture, design patterns, OOP, SOLID principles
  
• Experienced in C#, ASP.NET MVC & WebAPI, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL Server, Entity Framework or NHibernate
  
• Experienced in RESTful web services
  
• Experienced in Unit Testing, automated builds tools and code quality checks
  
• SOA, EDA, and design patterns
  
• Solid understanding of Object Oriented design patterns
  
• Focused on code quality and high development standards
  
• Good command of English
  
• Proficient communicator
  
• Customer facing
  
• Critical thinking
  
• Adaptability, willingness to learn
  
• Experienced in MVVM JavaScript libraries, CSS precompilers, Angular.js, React.js is a plus
  
• Experience in contributing to a scalable SaaS platform is a plus
  
• Experience in developing, publishing and debugging of Chatbots is also a plus
  
• Visual Studio .NET (VB.Net / C#) and Devexpress Winforms experience is a plus

The Project

The project offers custom solutions for insurance brokers in Belgium and adjacent countries. Our customer has multiple complex solutions that meet industry standards and offer broker customizations for their specific market challenges. The customer wants continuous improvement to help the brokers respond to the dynamics of the insurance business market. We are enhancing and extending a couple of .NET & Web solutions, that integrate technologies and frameworks such as .Net/.Net Core, DevExpress, Entity Framework, WCF, ASP.Net MVC/WebAPI, Angular JS, Bootstrap, Microsoft SQL Server.
