Senior Back-End Developer

The Senior Back-End Developer will participate in cross functional project teams in support of the product development process. They will be responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-scale applications using programming skills appropriate to the project.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, engineering or a related field
• 7+ years of work experience
• Expertise with server side/core Java development, including 4+ years with JDK +
• Expertise with Java Persistence and ORM (Hibernate preferred)
• Expertise with Spring (Data, REST, Security, AOP, Boot, State Machine, Web Sockets)
• Expertise with HATEOAS in RESTful API’s
• Expertise with relational database(s) and SQL (. PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MS SQL Server)
• Expertise with software design patterns and ability to document implementations using Unified Modeling Language (UML)
• Expertise with Maven and CI/ build systems
• Experience with cloud-based deployments of web applications and web services
• Experience with BPMN is desirable
• Experience with Apache/Tomcat
• Ability to learn and apply new software technologies
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
• Ability to work to given requirements with minimal direction for assigned tasks
• Ability to work on complex problems, identify causes, and develop creative solutions
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Good written and spoken English language skills

Responsibilities

• Design and development of software using programming languages and tools appropriate to the project based on the established design control process

• Lead role in Continuous Integration and Build processes
• Creation and implementation of unit test strategies
• Mentor junior members of the development team
• Lead code reviews
• Perform defect analysis and debugs software
• Interact with cross functional project teams to refine requirements
• Research and present new technologies to team members
