This role is located in Prague.

The procurement Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Buyers focused on Procurement transactional activities. He/she drives better spend compliance & consolidation by ensuring the proper checks and channeling the PR to the right procurement process. The Procurement Manager works independently with limited support from the Shared Procurement Center leader. He/she may own projects or process flows, work with Category Managers and FC Procurement teams on relevant strategic or operational initiatives to the EU network.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop a team of highly qualified procurement experts in EU Shared Procurement Center
  • Ensure adherence to Amazon’s global spend policy and driving compliance to local Procurement policies and procedures
  • Partner with pan-European key stakeholders to understand all business requirements and define procurement operations strategy
  • Build effective stakeholder relationships - develop relationships with primary internal customers (local Ops leadership), external suppliers and other teams within respective market
  • Implement, change and/or develop new processes as required to provide ability to better procure goods and services for the FC’s network
  • Ensure data integrity
  • Drive effective delivery of EU procurement metrics by leading / supporting projects and initiatives identifying root cause of issues and corrective actions
  • Assist with the development of new standards, procedures and solutions for the procurement operations
  • Ensure attainment of department goals, and support senior management to establish goals, KPI’s and policies for the department
  • Lead or assist with the development of process documentation and implementation & best practices adoption
  • Partner with other procurement leaders and teams on local or regional projects and initiatives
  • Promote the strategic importance of procurement across each business unit supported
  • Contribute to achievement of Procurement’s annual savings target, catalogue penetration, contracts maintenance, vendor set-up and maintenance objectives
  • Support procurement activities throughout all phases of new site launches
  • Prepare and participate in business reviews with local stakeholders to review vendor performance, future opportunities and/or challenges
  • Scope roles, recruit and hire according to business needs
  • Mentor and develop employees for career enhancement and direction
  • Evaluate team capability and organization structure and make necessary change to align with business needs
  • Be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of procurement operations within assigned area of responsibility or territory

Basic Qualifications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • People management experience
  • High motivation to learn, develop and perform in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of other languages will be a strong asset (German / French or Spanish or Italian / Czech or Slovak or Polish)
  • Attention-to-detail, alongside proven ability to manage multiple, conflicting priorities simultaneously
  • Familiarity with procurement systems and financial applications, e.g. Oracle and COUPA (not required but it is an advantage)
  • Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, alongside willingness to learn proprietary systems
  • Experience with metrics creation and data presentation
  • Bias for action: Evaluates acts and communicates in internet time. Decisive. Makes timely, practical, effective decisions. Takes initiative without being asked. Plans efficiently while avoiding analysis paralysis
  • Persuasive: Demonstrates healthy and productive influencing ability. Gains the respect and confidence of others. Builds constructive and effective relationships
  • Experience of improving processes and building scalability
  • Hands-on experience of running process, technology or operations improvement projects or initiatives
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships
  • Possesses the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem-solving skills
  • Significant previous experience in procurement/shared services center or BPO/program management
Education And Experience
  • Min. Bachelor’s degree (preferably Master)
  • Min. 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, operations management or shared services environment,
TRAVEL REQUIREMENT
  • Up to 30 %
