Purpose Statement
- Overall responsibility for ensuring people, tools and processes are effective and efficient, for both current and the future production needs. Develop and implement manufacturing operations strategy, control systems, tools and metrics to accurately measure progress, identify root causes and develop/implement corrective action plans. Primary responsibility for staff management, deployment and development.
- Develop and deploy manufacturing vision and strategy to ensure the site remains capable of meeting customer needs in a quickly changing environment. Fully communicate the strategy to the team, drive initiatives to ensure strategy execution and ensure strategy includes a strong emphasis on employee engagement.
- Support Program Management initiatives and activities, to meet/exceed customers' expectations. Communicate customer needs and product status to all production and management employees to provide accurate information in order to monitor daily and weekly goals.
- Champion Operational Excellence in manufacturing by ensuring standard manufacturing processes, methods, tools are deployed and continually improved. Drive generation, sharing and adoption of best practices. Own and drive 5S, GEMBA tours and waste reduction activity within all Manufacturing areas.
- Use site strategic and capacity plan to identify future resource requirements, drive required hiring and implement structures, processes and solutions to ensure effective onboarding, training, certification and development of all manufacturing personnel to meet current and future needs of the business. - Work collaboratively with Operations and Customer Management teams to lead and drive data driven productivity improvement through identification and actioning of manufacturing issues. Ensure SMS is fully deployed and used effectively within Manufacturing. Establish feedback, reward and recognition mechanisms to ensure all employees understand priorities and are empowered to deliver to define standards.
- Accountable to execute on Plexus' Best People strategy, leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
- Ensure compliance to all Health and Safety, Quality, Legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure daily presence on the shop floor and use the time to coach and develop relationships with manufacturing personnel.
- Provide input and participate in customer meetings, visits and quarterly business reviews as required.
- Provide tours for current or prospective customers and ensure manufacturing readiness to support tours.
- Carry out regular communications to the full Manufacturing team which include but not limited to: status of manufacturing goal achievement, business prospects and status, employee engagement actions, customer visits, major issues, reward and recognition.
- Generate reports as required.
- Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 15%).

- Technical or Science Degree / Master Degree / Professional Certification in related discipline.
- Technical or Science Certificate/ Diploma with min 8 years related working experience or equivalent will be considered.
