We are looking for a skilled and passionate Head of Accounting to join our Finance department in Bucharest. The right candidate will play an important part of a team which handles a lot of interesting and challenging finance projects for many different stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership/Supervisory Role: Leading the accounting and tax team, supervises end-of-period processes and supports the analysis of the periodical business performance, budgets and forecasts;
• Collaboration and Support: IIs part of finance management team and essential in motivating, developing and creating a departmental culture and vision, collaborating with various internal and external personnel. But also, ready to jump into operational tasks when needed;
• Policy Formation: creates and enhances financial policies and procedures across the accounting team as well as the wider Finance team;
• Deadlines and Documentation: Leading the accounting team in meeting reporting deadlines, ensuring documentation of all financial records and procedures, including preparation of reports on all accounting and tax related matters in reflection of the quarterly/annual processes;
• Financial Analysis: Leading the accounting team in the final preparation of accounts for the quarterly/annual audit and managing the audit process while liaising with external auditors;
• Research/Knowledge/Opportunity: Taking initiative in ensuring team knowledge and compliance with state tax requirements as well as with accepted accounting principles.

Hard skills:

• Finance or Accounting master’s degree;
• Accounting qualifications such as CPA, ACCA/FCCA;
• 7 + years of experience in a leading accounting position;
• Experience in managing a team of accountants in an internal group of companies;
• Experience with IFRS accounting;
• Fluency in English;
• Experience preparing corporate tax computations as well as experience designing and implementing process improvements and controls;
• Experience in tax management;
• An ability to interpret complex financial information, translating that information into business planning, processes and risk management;
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications (Excel);
• An interest or knowledge of iGaming, Sportsbook, Casino or financial institutions is highly desirable.
