The Finance Manager has both a site and a global role:

Member of the site leadership team and responsible for Budgeting / Forecasting, Financial Analysis, and all accounting business partner in support the Romania Site Managing the local implementation of financial processes (in coordination with HQ/shared services).

Within the Global Finance Organization, this position is responsible for assisting the Financial Reporting and Analysis Team in the overall management unit reporting, forecasting, budget process and position requires sound interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a global matrix environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all budgeting, forecasting, and accounting for the Romanian site
  • Coordinate with HQ/Corporate for monthly financial reporting and analysis. Interpret results for presentation and effectively communicate them to senior includes capital, operating expenses, headcount and other metrics.
  • Assist senior management to manage cost, and identify opportunities for improving budget allocations and cost containment
  • Working directly with the site manager to help manage the financials for the sites according to US GAAP
  • Foster a strong internal control environment and ensure financial procedures are enforced throughout the organization by strong partnering and advocacy
  • Responsible for the preparation of statutory financial statements and tax computations in accordance with local GAAP and tax legislation
  • Responsible for Statutory related activities - prepare periodic filings with local authorities and make sure timely submission of required documents are maintained
  • Maintain professional relations with tax authorities, tax advisors, manage the periodic audits from the authorities
  • Coordination with both internal and external auditors.
  • Manage a small accounting and financial team, supervise and review direct report and set objectives for direct reports and manage towards those performance objectives at year-end reviews.
  • Manage payroll process via an external payroll bureau
  • Ad-hoc financial projects as assigned

Qualifications

Core Competencies / Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (fluent in English and Romanian a must) to effectively present information to various levels of an organization
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaboratively to influence decision-making
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) & SAP user capabilities
  • Fluent English knowledge (written and spoken);
  • Ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks while adhering to specific deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to handle confidential information in an appropriate manner
  • Strong interpersonal savvy and influence skills with the ability to interact with senior leaders of the organization with poise and impact

 

Education, Experience & Training Required

  • BS in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent business degree, MBA a plus, with a minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably for a subsidiary of a US publicly traded software or manufacturing company
  • Five or more years of experience managing and leading a finance/administration team preferred
  • External Audit experience a plus
  • Must be able to work on a self-initiated basis and in a team environment, and be willing to work extended hours and travel as required
