Die shop Manager
Main competences:
- Bachelor’s degree – mechanical engineering, fluids dynamics
- Over 3 years’ experience in Management position
- Leadership skills and people management
- Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, technical drawings, fluids dynamics
- Experience in the implementation / usage of relevant lean best practice systems
- Very good organization and operations planning skills
- High communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-driven person and ability to work independent
- Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and results orientation
- Multitasking
- English Language – medium to advanced
- Experienced in Office and ERP programs usage
Main responsibilities:
- Team coordination (die cleaning, die mounting, correctors and nitriding)
- Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff
- Proposes measures for permanent development of his team members, team performance reviews
- Maintains adequate staffing levels and adjust people accordingly to ensure all shifts maintain a balanced experience level to support productivity goals
- Supervises all Die shop activities, supports problem die assessment and correction, dies planning in production, new tooling, replacement tooling, maintenance of existing tooling, dies cleaning station, Nitriding of Dies
- Perform Post Launch assessment of die productivity and recovery as compared to quoted values
- Together with senior die corrector, manages Die performance improvement activities
- Manages Budget for tooling and consumables for die shop department
- Manages relationships with die suppliers, develops new suppliers, contractors and service providers
- Reviews supplier’s performance, customer service, part of contract negotiation team with die suppliers
- Strives continually for dies efficiency increasing, cost reduction and performance improvement
- Responsible for team’s KPIs achievement and compliance to Company’s internal Procedures
- Monitors equipment and spare parts inventory and places purchase orders when necessary
- Supervises the proper usage of the equipment
- Assures that periodical preventive maintenance activities are done properly
- Periodically updates the min max stock connected to department’s needs
- Department representative in the production related daily / periodical meetings
- Permanent collaboration with other Departments in Production, Quality and Planning
- Maintain dies logs and reporting on daily activities including monthly activity report of the department
- Ensure that designated work area and facilities are fit for purpose and provides proactive support/solutions when needed
- Responsible with housekeeping in the department area
- Ensure health and safety policies are complied with Company’s internal rules
