Application Administrator (Home'Bank Team)

Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development-such as Agile/Scrum frameworks-is key.

As an Application Administrator, your main focus will be implementing Infrastructure as Code for the Internet Banking applications (Home’Bank, ING Business), external ING site, enterprise event bus, and enterprise service bus.

Your day-to-day

• Configuration and maintenance of production application infrastructure components
• Ensuring system availability is within agreed SLAs
• Providing support 24x7 during on-call rotation
• Motoring systems for security intrusions, tracking and implementing the latest security patches
• Implementing changes on production systems in accordance with change management procedures
• Understanding all implications of maintaining external-facing, 24x7, business-critical systems
• Implementing active monitoring, identifying and tracking relevant performance indicators
• Always acting in accordance with ING security procedures
• Working with Application Support and Development teams in identifying and solving production and test environment issues
• Understanding what a BCP requires and implements and maintains DR infrastructure
• Monitoring system performance and takes corrective actions where necessary
• Maintaining and regularly testing the backup plan
• Ensuring high-availability of the application

What you bring to the team

• Minimum 3 years of experience on a similar job
• Experience in managing WebSphere Application Server, Jboss EAP 6
• Thorough knowledge: Jboss EAP, WebSphere, Apache Web Server
• Experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL), Windows
• Experience with the following technologies is an advantage: PHP FPM, MySQL / MariaDB, IBM ISAM, Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Beats, Redis, HornetQ, Magento, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB2
• Knowledge of shell scripting - bash, phyton/jython, awk, sed
• Experience with complex projects
• Advanced English (written / oral)
• Strong ability to communicate orally and in writing
