[The Mission]

The Domain Architect will be responsible for articulating an architectural vision, conceptualizing architectural approaches, developing and validating the architecture and high level solution design against business requirements, and guiding and mentoring development teams on methodologies, processes and best practices aligned with the ING standards and policies, and Architecture strategy and roadmaps for applications.

Recommends engineering methodology, reviews engineering design packages and drives to minimize technical exposure and risks on projects. The Architect  will identify technical improvements, propose them and help the development team to implement them.

[Your Day-to-Day]

To achieve these goals, the Domain Architect is engaged throughout technical solution delivery, working closely with the following key organizational groups:

- Members of the development team to ensure that the software design and implementation meets the architectural goals and quality standards;

- Enterprise Architects to understand, define and apply enterprise level standards and influence business strategy;

- Technical Leads and staff to drive strategic goals/objectives;

- Infrastructure Team members to understand, validate and action infrastructure impacts;

- Project Management to coordinate solutions from technical perspective and minimize technical risk;

- Product Owner to understand and clarify functional and non-functional requirements;

- Quality Assurance to effectively support proper testing;

- Information Security to ensure compliance with secure development standards and negotiate security trade-offs;

- Operations to take into account operational (non-functional) requirements;

- External providers to identify how their components fit within the solution and make sure the external components are compliant with ING standards.

[What you bring to the team]

Work experience: at least 2 years in a technical lead or architectural capacity or at least 5 years in software development [C# | .NET technologies]

In-depth understanding of banking environment, products and processes.

Other competences:

Ability to liaise with a broad range of people, including line management, senior management, external suppliers and related people.

Ability to operate at own initiative with a pro-active attitude, within the directions and confines of management.

Problem solving ability and strong analytical skills.

Accuracy and attention to details.

Technical skills required:

Large experience in developing, administrating or integrating complex applications and databases.

Knowledge of architecture methodologies

Enterprise Application Integration expertise (front-end, middleware, back-end).

Experience in coordinating technical teams on a technical lead role

In-depth database design or enterprise database performance tuning.

IT Security experience.

Knowledge of non-functional aspects of IT Architecture (Performance, Resilience, Availability, Security etc.).

Requirements analysis skills and stakeholder management, and ability to work across organizations to architect complex solutions.
